YEAR 5 - ART TASKS FOR TUESDAY 5TH MAY

I've got two different ideas for you. Choose the one that suits you best or both of them, as you prefer!

IDEA 1
👉Make some nice chickens with upcycled materials you've got at home: cardboard, paints, paper, wooden sticks, plastic caps, stickers, googly eyes, feathers, fabric, wool... Whatever! Be creative!

IDEA 2

Create a background with felt pens, plastic and water. Then draw something on it with a black marker. I'm providing some ideas after the video.(Después del vídeo te dejo ideas de lo que puedes dibujar sobre tu fondo cuando esté seco).

Today we are going to practise our drawing skills. I know you like animals, so... I've got two ideas that will suit you!

(Hoy vamos a practicar nuestra habilidad para dibujar. Sé que te gustan los animales, así que.. ¡Tengo dos ideas que te irán bien!).

1- Follow these steps and draw your favourite animal. Colour it.(Sigue estos pasos y dibuja a tu animal favorito. Coloreálo).

2- How's the weather today??? Is it sunny? Go out on the balcony or in the garden, or just go near a sunny window and start drawing your animal toys. Don't forget to colour them! (¿Qué tiempo hace hoy? ¿Soleado? Sal al balcón/terraza o al jardín, o simplemente colócate cerca de una ventana soleada y empieza a dibujar a tus animales de juguete. ¡No te olvides de colorearlos!)

En España y en muchos otros países hoy, día 1 de mayo, se celebra el Día Internacional del Trabajador. En algunas partes del Reino Unido, además, se celebra MAY DAY.

BUT... WHAT IS MAY DAY???🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

👉👉👉MAY DAY is a public holiday. It is an ancient festival that celebrates the arrival of spring. People usually dance, sing and eat cakes. 

👉👉👉In England, celebrations include crowning a May Queen (coronar a una Reina de Mayo) and dancing around a maypole circling it with ribbons (bailar alrededor de un "poste de mayo" envolviéndolo con cintas). They also perform Morris dancing (el baile de Morris).
